Following his unanimous election as the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President for a record ninth consecutive term, former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Odisha for their continued support and reiterated his unwavering commitment to the state’s development and dignity.
In a strong and forward-looking message, Patnaik said, “From the year 2000 till 2024, the people of Odisha have blessed us with the opportunity to serve. This is not merely a political mandate, but a reflection of their trust in our governance.”
He attributed the party’s consistent success to its strong organizational structure, saying, “No one can afford to underestimate the organizational capabilities of the BJD. Our strength lies in our disciplined and dedicated cadre.”
Referring to the party’s grassroots connect, Patnaik stated, “Our workers are our real assets. Whether in power or not, the BJD will always remain committed to public service.” He emphasized that the party's mission goes beyond electoral politics and remains deeply rooted in the larger interest of Odisha.

Lost 2024 Election Due To False Narrative
Reflecting on the previous 2024 election results, Naveen Patnaik pointed out that the party had narrowly lost a few seats due to “false narratives” spread during the campaign. However, he assured that the party is working to strengthen its communication, especially through social media platforms, to directly connect with people and counter misinformation.
