Biju Janata Dal (BJD) corporator Amaresh Jena has been booked following serious allegations of sexual exploitation and criminal intimidation, lodged by a woman at the Laxmisagar police station in the capital city.
According to the complaint, Jena allegedly established a physical relationship with the woman under the false promise of marriage. The complainant further alleged that when she confronted him about the commitment, she was met with cheating, threats, and intimidation.
Acting on the complaint, police have registered a formal case under relevant sections of the IPC. The woman’s statement has been officially recorded, and she has been sent for medical examination as part of standard investigative procedures.
Amaresh Jena has not issued any public statement or responded to queries from the media regarding the allegations.
Police officials confirmed that the investigation is underway and further action will depend on the outcome of the medical report and other evidence gathered during the inquiry.
This development has stirred political and public interest, given Jena's association with the BJD. It remains to be seen how the party leadership will respond once the findings are made official.
