Tension gripped Sialia Nodal High School in Bhadrak district’s Bont block on Thursday after the block development officer (BDO) allegedly slapped the school committee president.
Sources said, Sialia Nodal High School is a government-run 5T school. BDO Pradeep Sethi on Thursday paid a visit to the school for inspection. During his presence at the school, he had a heated argument with school committee president Ranjan Barik over some issues.
Later, the BDO allegedly lost his cool and slapped Barik. In no time the situation became tense. Sensing the situation going out of control, the BDO along with other officials who accompanied him left the place.
“The headmaster of our school has been transferred and attached to the office without any valid reason. Today the BDO came to our school. It was when I asked him as to why the headmaster has been transferred without any reason that he got angry and slapped me,” alleged Barik.
On the other hand, the BDO termed the allegation leveled against him as baseless.
When contacted, the BDO said, “The allegation is false. Let alone slapping him, I didn’t even touch his body.”
At the time of filing the report, no police complaint was lodged in this regard.
