As the historic Bali Yatra is going on in full swing in Cuttack, an underwater fish tunnel aquarium installed for the very first time at the fair has turned out to be a major crowd-puller.
With lakhs of visitors turning up at the fairground every day, they were seen enjoying watching innumerable fishes with the experience of walking under the sea in the underwater tunnel aquarium.
Black, white, red, yellow, shady fish, small sharks, jellyfish and so much more, people can see every kind of aquatic life wherever they roll their eyes.
The 200-foot-long, 60-foot-wide tunnel aquarium is home to more than a thousand species of marine fish. When one enters the tunnel, they feel as if they are walking in the sea. Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh inaugurated the aquarium at Bali Yatra ground.
Speaking about the aquarium, Singh said, “This is a new attraction in Cuttack Bali Yatra. People can enjoy it and feel like moving under the sea. There are not many underwater aquariums in India.”
However, there has been a mixed response from the visitors of this tunnel fish aquarium.
“It took me a lot of time to find the location of this aquarium at Bali Yatra. But I am finally here. It looks good to me and I am happy seeing such a thing in Cuttack,” said a visitor.
Not everybody looked overly happy with the ticket price of the aquarium. “This is a nice aquarium, but the ticket price is very high. There is not enough to see here worth Rs 150. The tunnel aquarium is overhyped. But anyways, it is new in Cuttack and people are enjoying it,” said another visitor.
Not only a wide variety of fishes, the aquarium features large statues of elephants as well. People use them as backgrounds to take photographs.
The historic Bali Yatra which started on November 27 will continue till December 4.
