Arogya Mandir inaugurated in Odisha’s Bhuban, night-time healthcare now a reality
A major step towards strengthening rural healthcare is the construction of a new Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Bhuban of the Dhenkanal district. The centre aims to provide extended medical services to the general public.
The new facility will offer outdoor consultation services and free medicines until 8 PM, significantly improving over the previous daytime-only operations.
Accessible and Affordable Healthcare:
This initiative is part of the government’s larger effort to expand accessible and affordable healthcare in semi-urban and rural areas. While the existing Bhuban Community Health Centre previously operated only during daytime hours, the new Arogya Mandir ensures that patients can now receive treatment and medication even in the evening.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including the District Collector of Dhenkanal, the MLA of Kamakhyanagar, and the Municipality Chairperson of the Bhuban Notified Area Council.
Officials stated that this move is expected to greatly benefit daily wage workers and residents who often find it difficult to access health services during working hours. The Arogya Mandir model is seen as a crucial step in decentralizing healthcare and bringing it closer to the people.
Arogya Mandir: Who Says What
“This will go a long way in benefiting the residents of Bhuban. There will be separate doctors, and new pharmacists will be appointed here. All kinds of patients can avail the benefits. Moreover, we will appoint a new staff nurse for the betterment of the patients,” informed ADM Dr. N DC Behera.
Likewise, Dhenkanal Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay said, “Today, we inaugurated an Arogya Mandir in the beautiful location of Bhuban. This will be of great benefit for all kinds of diseases, especially at night. This will benefit patients who arrive at night.”
“At least 500 people depend on Bhuban CHC daily. So, it is impossible to provide treatment to all of them. So, this Arogya Mandir will go a long way in providing the best healthcare in the area. Additionally, I have also requested for the immediate appointment of two new doctors here. I thank the BJP-led state government for all the cooperation,” said Kamakhyanagar MLA, Shatrughna Jena.
