The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha filed a complaint at the Bhubaneswar DCP office on Friday alleging former Odisha minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Sushant Singh’s involvement in the Ambabhona Police Station vandalism case.
Not only with the DCP, the youth wing of the saffron party also lodged a complaint with the DG of Odisha police through IICs of all the police stations in the State. They alleged that the police are not taking any action against the culprits of the vandalism case.
“The Ambabhona Police Station was ransacked on the directions of Sushant Singh after the police raided a drugs party. I am not sure whether the law is different for BJD workers,” said Odisha BJP Yuva Morcha president, Abhilash Panda.
It is pertinent to mention here that a complaint has already been filed against Singh with the NHRC alleging his involvement in the case.
On the other hand, the saffron party staged demonstration and burnt effigies of Sushant Singh and MLA Pratap Jena in Sambalpur today alleging Jena’s involvement in the sensational Mahanga double murder case.
While no comments from the police could be received on BJP’s allegations, MLA Singh had earlier issued a statement accusing the police of wrongdoing because of which the vandalism happened.
“The BJP is targeting me without any reason. The entire fault is with the police. The irate mob left the place after I requested them to maintain peace. BJP is targeting me by labelling false allegations against me fearing their defeat in the next election,” Singh had said in his statement.
