At a high-level meeting of the state secretaries, Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on Tuesday directed officials to focus on ten key areas to improve governance and public service delivery.

From punctuality, good governance to ‘perform or take VRS’ were some of the key focus areas of the meeting.

Prompt Response to UI Notes from CMO

All the departments have been instructed to respond promptly to UI notes from the Chief Minister’s Office. They have also been directed to take immediate action on the notes.

‘Punctuality Matters; Perform or Take VRS’

Strict emphasis has been laid on officials arriving at offices on time. Performance of underperforming officers will be closely monitored and those failing to improve will be given the option of voluntary retirement (VRS).

AI Cameras In Govt Offices

AI (artificial intelligence) cameras will soon be installed in all district-level government offices to ensure accountability.

CM Dashboard to Monitor…

The government will review delays in providing services to the public while the CM Dashboard will be launched from October to track real-time progress.

District Collectors will review Central schemes on the 7th of every month while the Forest & Environment and Revenue departments will conduct reviews on the 12th.

Emphasis on Project Implementation & Enforcement Measures

All departments have been asked to focus on increasing expenditure to speed up project implementation. Officers have also been told to prioritise field visits while the government will put stronger emphasis on enforcement measures.
