In a groundbreaking move blending technology and entertainment, a robotic dog, designed to resemble a playful pet, is poised to be the centre of attention in Odisha’s Jatra world, as it makes its debut at the new season of the Opera Jagyaseni event.
This has sparked curiosity and excitement among theatre lovers, as a similar robotic dog was introduced during this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). The innovative pet camera made its premiere during the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, sparking widespread excitement among fans.
Jatra audiences are looking forward to witnessing this one-of-a-kind attraction, which promises to be a major highlight. Meanwhile, in an exclusive chat with OTV, Jatra party owner Prasanjit and operation team member Kalyan shared some interesting facts about the robotic companion.

“Inspired by IPL, I was stunned to see how the robotic dog was playing with star players like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni & Pant and many others. People in Odisha have also seen the robotic dog on TV, like me. So, we have planned to show it live to everyone,” Prasanjit told OTV.
“So, we contacted Kalyan, and it took us at least five months to procure it,” he added.
Likewise, Kalyan stated, “This particular robotic dog is for entertainment purposes. But, there are many other types that can be used for surveillance, security, industrial uses, and many other purposes. It can greet people, jump forward like a pet dog, and have other AI features.”
“It can also stand on two legs. It can say hello, and it can also become your pet,” he added.
