A young girl’s journey to find her biological parents in Odisha has captured the attention of many. Twenty-one-year-old Sneha, hailing originally from the eastern state of Odisha, has travelled from Spain, where she was raised, back to her birthplace in Bhubaneswar to reconnect with her biological family.

Sneha and her brother were adopted 15 years ago by a Spanish couple, Gema Vidal and her husband, who have lovingly raised them as their own children. Despite a happy upbringing in Spain, Sneha felt a pull towards discovering her origins and understanding her roots.

Assisted by the Commissionerate Police, Sneha is in search of her birth parents, Banalata Das and Santosh Das. Her emotional journey has been widely followed, and the community in Odisha is showing great support for it.
