8 senior IPS officers receive promotions from Odisha Government

Eight senior IPS officers in Odisha, including Yatindra Koyal and Prateek Mohanty, were promoted by the state government. The promotions take effect from January 1, 2025. This round of promotions reflects the ongoing commitment of the Odisha Government towards strengthening the leadership within the IPS cadre.

The Odisha government issued a notification promoting at least eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, on Tuesday.

Senior IPS officers Yatindra Koyal and Prateek Mohanty have been promoted to the position of Additional Director General (ADG) of Police, the notification issued in this regard mentioned. The two IPS officers were ascended in Level-15 of pay matrix.

In addition, Awinash Kumar, Sarthak Sarangi, and Niti Shekhar were promoted to the grade of Inspector General (IG) of Police, the official communiqué stated. The three IPS officers were ascended in Level-14 of pay matrix.

Moreover, three more senior officers namely Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, and Battula Gangadhar have been elevated to the grade of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police. The three IPS officers were promoted in Level-13A of pay matrix.

This round of promotions reflects the ongoing commitment of the Odisha Government towards strengthening the leadership within the IPS cadre and acknowledges the dedicated service of these officers to the society.

Notably, all eight promotions will be effected from January 1, 2025.
