As many as four individuals have been arrested on Monday in connection with a series of thefts reported from different schools and a women’s self-help group office under the Laikera police station limits in Jharsuguda.
Several stolen items have been recovered from their possession.
According to police sources, multiple complaints had been lodged in July regarding thefts at various schools and a women’s self-help group office in the Laikera area. Acting on these cases, the police launched an investigation and apprehended the accused.
As per reports, the recovered items include tablets, computers, printers, speakers, televisions, and other stolen goods. The investigation is underway to ascertain further links and involvement in similar incidents.

Earlier in May this year, police had arrested the alleged mastermind of a robbery that targeted a family in Soro and decamped with valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash.
The accused, identified as Bapi Pani, is the leader of a nine-member gang that carried out the robbery in Dayanidhipur village within the jurisdiction of Soro police station.
As per police sources, the gang forcibly entered the residence of Rabindra Nayak by breaking down the main door and tying up five family members using torn window screens. The intruders physically assaulted the victims during the robbery.
