2 teachers dismissed, show-cause notice to 8 over absence from duty

A day after 24 teachers lost their job over absence from duty in Nabarangpur district, two teachers were dismissed and 8 have been slapped with show-cause notice in Sundargarh district on Saturday.

They would all be disengaged from their jobs if they fail to give satisfactory answers, reports said.

All these teachers were found to be absent from their duties for years together. 

Earlier, 10 teachers from Malkangiri district and 24 teachers from Nabarangpur district were disengaged from their duties over their absence from duty.

The State School and Mass Education Department has directed the District Education Officers (DEOs) to take stringent action against teachers who have remained absent without leave applications.

Till now, the School and Mass Education Department has taken action against 154 junior teachers for the same reason.
