Sixteen Additional Superintendents of Police have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police in Odisha, marking a key career milestone, as per a recent notification from the Home Department outlining the promotions and associated pay scale details.

Sixteen officers currently serving as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) have received promotions to the Superintendent of Police (SP) rank, following an announcement from the Home Department on Friday.

The official communication outlined details of the advancements, marking a significant step in these officers' careers.

“Following Additional Superintendent of Police are hereby promoted to the Grade of OPS (S) i.e. Superintendent of Police (Super time Scale) of the O.P.S. Cadre in the scale of pay of Rs 78.800-2.09,200/-, in level-14 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017 on ad hoc basis for a period of one year from the date they actually join in the promotional posts or till their retirements or till the recommendation of OPSC is received and accepted by the Government, whichever is earlier,” a Home Department notification mentioned.

16 ASPs who received promotion are:

The senior cops who have been promoted are Tanuja Mohanty, presently working as the ASP Vigilance; Debabrata Chakra, presently working as ASP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack; K. Benugopal Acharya, the ASP Vigilance; Basudev Swain, ASP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack;  Anil Kumar Beuria, ASP Angul; Anirudha Routray, ASP Jajpur; Vishnu Prasad Pati, Administrator-Security, Jagannath Temple, Puri; Rabindra Kumar Panda, the ASP Vigilance; Gupteswar Bhoi, ASP, O/o DIG of Police, NCR, Talcher; Sushanta Kumar Biswal, the ASP, Vigilance; and Manoj Kumar Rout, ASP Keonjhar.

In addition, the cops who also received promotion include Uma Shankar Panda ASP, SIW, Bhubaneswar; Pradeep Kumar Pradhan, ASP Vigilance; Chintamani Patra, Addl. DCP, Police Commissionerate, CTC-BBSR; Krushna Prasad Dash, Addl. DCP, Police Commissionerate, CTC-BBSR; and Bishnu Prasad Patra, ASP Rayagada.

“On promotion to the rank of OPS (S), they are allowed to continue in their present place of posting until further orders. On such promotional posting, the above posts held by the officers are declared equivalent to the rank of OPS (S) till their continuance in the said posts,” the official communiqué stated.
