Presenting his government’s 100 days' report card at a special function in Puri on Thursday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi claimed that all the promises made by his party in the 2024 election manifesto will be fulfilled in a time-bound manner.
Several Cabinet Ministers, Union Ministers, MLAs and MPs of the saffron party were present in the function.
Majhi asserted that his government is fully committed to fulfil people's aspirations in the run-up to making ‘Viksit Odisha’ by 2036.
“The government should run as per the opinions and welfare of people. After 24 years of governance, the previous BJD government was out of power due to their anti-people work. The former government even used Lord Jagannath in politics. However, our ‘Sankalpa Patra’(election manifesto) is like a sacred book for our government. We have fulfilled some of the promises given to people in our ‘Sankalpa Patra’. Other promises will be fulfilled too,” said CM Majhi.
“Our government opened all the four dwaras (doors) of Puri Srimandir on the first day after coming to power. We also started the process for the counting and inventory work of ornaments in the Ratna Bhandar. The former government was not hearing the grievances of people. We are hearing public grievances in Bhubaneswar and it will be extended to every district in coming days,” he added.
CM Majhi also targeted the former government on the occasion of BJP government’s completion of the 100th day in Odisha.
“The previous government was only taking actions against clerks over corruption allegations. However, our government has taken necessary actions against all corruption and bribery allegations. As many as 58 corrupted officials including 16 first class officials have been arrested. Assets around Rs 66.50 crore disproportionate to the known sources of income have been found in 20 cases out of a total of 71,” said Majhi.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said though it was rumoured before the election that Mission Shakti would be stopped, the scheme has rather picked up momentum now.
“The new government has started a scheme within 100 days in which more than one crore women will be benefitted. Those who have not received the first instalment of September 17 will get it later. Our government is committed to empower women in every nook and corner of the State,” said Parida.
“We will make arrangements for cancer patients' treatment in all the district headquarters. You can get the benefits of Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhy Arogya Yojna cards in around 27,000 hospitals and healthcare institutions across India,” said Health Minister Mukesh Mahalinga.
Meanwhile, the Opposition BJD rapped BJP by alleging that the ruling party has failed to keep its promises given to people during the last election.
“There is no problem if they have celebrations every day. But they should keep their promises given to people. Efforts should be made in the double-engine government for the long-term benefit of Odisha,” said BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra.
