'Mentally unstable' remark against LoP: Jayanarayan Mishra may file defamation suit

The Leader of Opposition (LoP) has reacted sharply over the ‘mentally unstable’ remark by the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders.

In an exclusive interaction during OTV’s Khola Katha programme, Mishra said, “Whether it's my or their (BJD’s) mental condition that is unstable, they should get themselves tested. I will file a defamation suit.”

Mishra further said that they are running the government and they do not have information on what treatment I am taking and for what disease I am getting treatment.

“Being the Leader of Opposition, I had stayed at Utkal Bhawan and where I went, where I stayed, and what disease I have, everything is recorded. Director Health has given permission for kidney treatment and transplant. Despite this, if the ruling BJD members do not know for what reason I went, it shows that they have some mental disorder,” said Mishra.

Meanwhile, the BJD leaders could not be contacted over Mishra’s statements.
