A triangular love story allegedly led to the murder of a youth at Chintamaniswar area under Laxmisagar police station in Bhubaneswar late Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Anjan Kumar Behera. The accused Pinku alias Kanha Pradhan, who allegedly hacked Anjan to death, is on the run.
As per reports, the gruesome murder was the fallout of a suspected love triangle. The victim Anjan was friend of Goutam who was in a love relationship with a girl. After attending a party, Goutam along with his friend Anjan had gone to meet the girl on Friday night. Following the development, Pinku, who happens to be another lover of the girl, attacked Goutam with a sword while he was talking with his lover. However, in a bid to save Goutam, Anjan suffered critical injuries in his hand and other parts of body.
Anjan was immediately rushed to the Capital Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at Laxmisagar police station. An investigation into the incident has been launched. However, police is yet to nab the accused who is on the run.
As per police sources, some associates of Pinku including some girls are also involved in the murder case. They had hatched a conspiracy earlier to murder Goutam.
