Thane: A notorious criminal of the infamous Chikanghar gang was shot dead by a group of eleven people shortly before midnight, police said today.
Criminal Nadasingh Nagarsingh Tak (30), a resident of Dombivali here, was involved number of crimes including dacoity in Thane, Mumbai and other places. He had a number of cases registered with various police stations, they said.
According to police, Nagarsingh had come down to Shivai Nagar locality on Thursday night where he was attacked by the group of 11 and shot dead at point blank range. Later he was also attacked by sharp weapons and inflicted several blows, they said.
The police have registered an offence on a complaint by his 17 year old son against the 11 assailants. The police have registered case under sections 302, 143, 147, 148, 149, 201 of the IPC and sections of Arms Act and BP act also.
