Jaipur: Bhutan`s newly married King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck today reached the pink city on board a special train as part of their five-day visit to Rajasthan, where they will spend their honeymoon. The royal couple, who travelled from New Delhi, was received by State Minister for Industries Rajendra Pareek and city Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, officials said here.

The couple would tomorrow visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Amer Fort in the city. They would then leave for Jodhpur in the evening, Rajasthan Chief Secretary S Ahmad said. On Saturday, they would visit the Kaylana lake, Mehrangarh Qila and Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, he said. The couple would make their next stop at Udaipur and on October 31 would return back to Delhi.

This is the first visit abroad of the King after the royal wedding on October 13 and the fourth trip to India since his coronation in November 2008. He reached India on a nine-day state visit on October 24 along with his wife.
