Taking cognizance of the pee-gate scandal aboard the Akal Takht Express between Amritsar and Kolkata, the Indian Railways has taken stern action against the accused Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE).

In a tweet, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that orders have been issued for removal of the TTE from service with immediate effect.

“Your above conduct showing disrespect to women construes a serious misconduct, in the process bringing disrepute not only to your own self but entire railways as an organization. It is also seen that you are in judicial custody. Taking the cognizance of this grave matter, I consider it to be a fit case to adopt the provision of Rule 14(0. Thus, I hereby deem it fit to impose the punishment of "REMOVAL FROM SERVICE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT" for behaviour unbecoming of a railway servant,” read an order of northern railway which was shared by the Union Railway Minister on Twitter.

Earlier, it was alleged that the TTE, Munna Kumar of Bihar deployed on the train, allegedly urinated on a woman who was travelling with her husband. The incident was reported on March 13, 2023.
