The Pakistan Army reportedly resorted to artillery shelling and drone attacks in the Jammu region on Thursday evening.
As per reports, the development prompted an effective retaliation from the Indian Armed Forces.
As per sources, in response to multiple attempted aerial incursions involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by Pakistan, defensive systems were promptly activated in Jammu.
Sources informed that Pakistani Army attacked several places across Jammu, with artillery firing and drone attacks.
However, the Indian defence systems neutralised many of them and activated air raid sirens in a swift response.

Pakistani drones were successfully neutralised mid-air through the coordinated deployment of advanced technologies. Pakistan also targetted with loitering munitions.
Reportedly, S-400 air defence took down all the eight missiles over Jammu. No damage or casualties were reported in the attack.
Blackout In Border Areas
As many as eight missiles were shot at RS Pura, Arnia, Samba, Hiranagar - areas with heavy military installations -- which were all intercepted by the Air Defence Units.
As per reports, shortly before 9 pm, loud explosions were heard from Jammu followed by clamour of sirens and a blackout. Cellphone videos sent by locals showed lights streaking across the sky, indicating interception of the missiles and drones by the Air Defence System of the Indian armed forces.
The border areas of Jammu and Kashmir were under complete blackout. Blackout has also been declared in Chandigarh, Ferozepur, Mohali and Gurudaspur in Punjab and parts of Rajasthan -- another state that shares border with Pakistan.
Pakistan's F-16 Down
As per sources, the Indian armed forces have shot down an F-16 supersonic fighter jet after it took off from the Sargodha air base in Pakistan. The forces had deployed an Indian surface-to-air missile defence system.
Pathankot Targeted
Punjab's Pathankot which is just 30 km from the International Border -- has also come under heavy artillery fire from Pakistan.
