As per a Niti Aayog report, Odisha has a total fleet of 4831 electric vehicles (EV) on road. EV's with a battery capacity of 2W takes a lion share of 75 percent. A total of 3682 2W EV's are on Odisha roads. Due to the low density of EV, the State has only 18 EV charging stations at present.

Odisha today joined nine other states in the country to have a full-fledged policy for the sunrise sector - the electric vehicles. The State has set an ambitious target of accomplishing 20 electric vehicles per 100 vehicle registration when as of date, the electric vehicles carve only 0.06 percent of total vehicles on road in the State.
