Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, Chairperson of the high-level committee which has been constituted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for initiating an overall revamp of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday.
As per reports, Panda sought the guidance of the Defence Minister in preparing the roadmap for the high-level committee’s monumental work in recommending ways to reshape the youth wing of the Indian Armed forces.
The Committee includes Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former Indian cricket team captain, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Col. (Retd) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Member of Parliament and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament among others as members.

“Called on Defence Minister @rajnathsingh to seek his guidance for the work of the high level committee formed to recommend ways to revamp the National Cadet Corps, to achieve PM @narendramodi's vision to empower youth for national integration & nation building,” tweeted Panda.
It is worth mentioning here that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has set up the Committee for a comprehensive review of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the largest uniformed organisation which aims at developing character, discipline and promotes selfless service amongst young citizens.
“The Terms of Reference of the Committee, inter-alia, broadly provide for suggesting measures which can empower NCC cadets to contribute more effectively towards nation building and national developmental efforts in various sectors; propose measures for gainful engagement of its Alumni for betterment of the organisation as a whole and to study/recommend best practices of similar international youth organisations for inclusion in the NCC curriculum," the Defence Ministry had stated.
