In a significant administrative reshuffle carried out late on Monday night, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 14 IPS officers, including the Superintendents of Police (SP) of seven districts.

The move is aimed at strengthening law and order and bringing about comprehensive reform in police administration across the state.

A major highlight of the reshuffle is the transfer of Mohit Gupta, who served as the Inspector General (IG) of the Varanasi Zone. Gupta has now been appointed as Home Secretary in Lucknow.

Known for his effective tenure in Varanasi, Gupta carried out several important tasks in the region. His new role in the State Home Department is expected to bolster the implementation of security-related policies across Uttar Pradesh.

In another key appointment, Raj Karan Nayyar has been made the new Superintendent of Police of Gorakhpur. He has been entrusted with the responsibility of enhancing law and order in the district.
