IPS Roopa vs IAS Rohini Sindhuri: Karnataka High Court vacates temporary injunction

The two Karnataka bureaucrats recently indulged in publicised tussle on social media. Following the spat, the government transferred the duo from their present positions without showing postings.

In a major development pertaining to the public spat between IPS D Roopa Moudgil and IAS Rohini Sindhuri, the Karnataka High Court has vacated the temporary injunction order passed by a civil court in Bengaluru.

A single judge bench of Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar vacated the temporary injunction ordered passed by Bengaluru Civil Court restraining IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil from publishing any defamatory content against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri.

Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar allowed the petition filed by Moudgil questioning the order dated March 7, by which the trial court had extended the life of the injunction order.

The row began after Rohini was spotted with JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh in a restaurant as both of them always had a clash when she was the District Collector of Mysuru.
Roopa, in a Facebook post, shared a YouTube link titled ‘Rohini Sindhuri meeting with former Minister Sa Ra Mahesh’ and listed 19 allegations of Rohini’s illegal acts. The IPS officer also accused Rohini of sending personal pictures to other IAS officers.

On February 24, an Additional City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru had passed an ex-parte temporary injunction order, restraining IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil from publishing any defamatory content against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri. The life of the injunction order was further extended on March 7.
