India will organise the first-ever Global Buddhist Summit (GBS) in New Delhi to address contemporary global challenges. The aim of this conference is to focus on the Buddhist response to deal with the most pressing challenges the world is facing.
The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), which is part of the Ministry of Culture, will be hosting the First Global Buddhist Summit at the Ashok Hotel, in New Delhi on April 20 and 21.
The theme of the summit is ‘Responses to Contemporary Challenges from Philosophy to Praxis.’
Eminent Scholars, Sangha Leaders, and Dharma Practitioners from all over the world will discuss today’s pressing global issues and look for answers in the Buddha Dharma which promotes universal values.
The Topics Include:
1. Buddha Dharma and Peace
2. Environmental Crisis, Health, and Sustainability
3. Preservation of Nalanda Buddhist Tradition where knowledge and cultures flourished of diverse spiritual and philosophical traditions
4. Buddha Dharma Pilgrimage, living heritage, and Buddha Relics: A resilient foundation to India’s centuries-old cultural links to countries in South, Southeast, and East Asia
