Portraying him as a reincarnation of Lord Shri Ram, people in this town of Uttar Pradesh have literally started offering prayers to the idol of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The self-proclaimed devotees of Yogi, have built his idol at the temple in Ayodhya’s Bharatkund and offer prayers.
This apart, they also sing bhajans during aarti. The bhajans are mostly praising the chief minister.
If reports are to be believed, the temple is built by a man identified as Prabhakar Maurya, a Yogi Pracharak since 2014. The temple members also released audio and music video of the bhajans. The bhajans are also written by Maurya, reports said.
The temple is just 15kms away from Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. The temple is on the Ayodhya-Gorakhpur highway, the same place where Lord Ram’s brother Bharat is believed to have taken over the reign of Ayodhya.
Maurya built the temple as a tribute to Yogi. He credits Yogi for building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“The temple is a witness to the fulfillment of my resolve. I had decided to build a temple in the name of the person who builds the Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Now, that the grand Ram Temple is being built, in which Yogi Adityanath ji played a big role – I have built Yogi’s temple to fulfill my resolve,” said Maurya.
