What was supposed to be a simple meal turned into a nightmare for two men dining at a roadside dhaba in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, after they discovered a dead rat in their paneer dish. The incident occurred on Monday at Anmol Dhaba in Bilsi town and has since sparked widespread anger.
A video of the shocking incident quickly went viral on social media, showing one of the diners using a spoon to remove what appeared to be a bay leaf from the dish, only to reveal the rodent hidden underneath.
Nishant Maheshwari, a resident of Bilsi, said that he and his friend Puneet had visited the dhaba for a meal when they made the horrifying discovery. “I immediately complained to the dhaba operator and informed him that I would lodge a complaint with the police,” Maheshwari said.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bilsi, Prem Pal Singh, confirmed that he had also viewed the video. “We have not received any written complaint yet, but the video is being examined. A detailed investigation will be conducted,” Singh told reporters.
