In a significant development, India launched 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen.

The Pahalgam attack was executed by terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its proxy, The Resistance Front (TRF).
The attackers aimed to disrupt the resurgence of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir by instilling fear through targeted killings.
Intelligence indicated plans for further attacks, necessitating a preemptive and measured response.
Despite international condemnation, Pakistan failed to take action against the perpetrators, prompting India to act decisively.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi's Briefing:
Colonel Qureshi revealed that Operation Sindoor was executed between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM, targeting nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These sites were linked to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The operation aimed to dismantle terror infrastructure without causing civilian casualties, reflecting India's measured and non-escalatory approach.
Among the significant targets was the Gulpur camp in Kotli, a known LeT base active in the Rajouri-Poonch region. Colonel Qureshi presented videos confirming successful strikes on this and other camps, including those in Muridke and Sialkot, areas historically associated with terrorist training activities.
