Rourkela: The body of an engineering student was recovered on Friday from a railway track near Valulata railway station, about 40 km from here, police said.

The body of Narayan Marandi (22), a fourth year B.Tech student of Government-run Saranga Engineering College, was found with his head smashed, police said.

Marandi was missing since May 27.

Police was investigating the cause of the death of the student.
