Rourkela: Armed miscreants on Monday looted Rs five lakh from a man at Balanda, about 30 km from here, police said.

About five youths armed with lethal weapons came in motor-cycles and waylaid the person, identified as Anand Kumar Agarwal who was going in another motorbike.

They attacked him before decamping with the booty as well as his motorbike.

However, they abandoned his vehicle at a distance and fled the scene, police said adding investigation into the incident was on.
