Union Minister of State (MoS) for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti, Bishweswar Tudu on Friday midnight crossed a temporary bamboo bridge to reach tribals residing in a remote village in Balasore district to listen to their plight.
As per reports, the Union Minister undertook the risky trek on the bamboo bridge at midnight to meet the tribal community residing in Bajana Adibasi Sahi under Bahanaga Sauda Panchayat of the district. Tudu had to travel on the temporary bridge as there is no permanent bridge connecting the place with the outside world.
During his visit, he learned about the troubles faced by the community after discussing with the residents. Afterwards, he put up the problems of electricity connection and motorable road, for easy connectivity, with the respective departmental authorities over the phone. Tudu assured the villagers to redress the troubles as soon as possible.
"These villagers are still far away from minimum basic facilities. There is no proper road for commutation and I have taken up this issue with the Block Development Officer (BDO). A pucca road will be built as immediate relief. The responsible authorities of both the departments have assured to address the issues as soon as possible," said Tudu.
Speaking about the bamboo bridge, Tudu said, "I got to know that construction works on the permanent bridge came to a halt following incessant rainfall in the area. The works have resumed and the problem will be solved soon."
During his visit, Tudu joined the tribals and danced to the beats of their traditional musical instrument.
