With the country being engrossed in the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence or ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, one of the longest national flags in the country was carried during a rally in Bargarh on Tuesday.
The 1 km-long Tricolour flag was carried in the rally by hundreds of people in the town during a Tiranga Yatra organsied by Vikash group. The Chairman of the group, D Murali Krishna and several social organisations of the town participated in the huge rally.
As per reports, the huge flag was brought from Nagpur and the artisans took around 15 days to prepare it. Thousands of people participated in the rally holding Tricolour flags in their hands. Various cultural programmes were also organised during the rally.
Former MP Prasanna Acharya, Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya, BJP leader Ashwini Sarangi, Congress leader Pradeep Debta and other dignitaries participated in the rally which started from Lengu Mishra square and finished at Ganpati Hotel covering a distance of nearly 4 km.
“Bargarh people celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence or ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in a grand way showing unity and integrity. A huge Tricolour flag was carried during the rally. Bargarh people have inspired the whole country to make the call of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ a huge success.
