The events surrounding the 44-day long Tapaswini-Sumit marital discord saga in Berhampur is refusing to come to an end.
Moments after the District Court in Behrampur on Tuesday allowed Tapaswini Dash to live at her in-law’s place, a demand she has been making since long, her husband Dr Sumit Sahu has decided to move the Orissa High Court challenging the lower court’s order.
After hearing all concerned parties to the marital dispute, the Behrampur District Court had not only directed Tapaswini to live in her in-law’s place along with her husband, but it also directed Sumit to pay monthly maintenance of Rs 17,000 to her for sustenance before 10th of every month. In order to ensure the payment, the court had asked Tapaswini to issue receipts to Sumit upon receiving the amount.
However, not contended with the court's order that went in favour of Tapaswini, Sumit has decided to move the Orissa HC with a plea challenging the order of the District Court, informed Sumit's lawyer.
"We will approach the HC to challenge the District Court's order," said Surendra Behera, Sumit's lawyer.
The District Court’s orders will come into effect from today.
