Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced a documentary film on Operation Zindagi which was launched to rescue 11-year-old boy Rahul Sahu who was trapped in a borewell for nearly 105 hours.
Baghel while felicitating the members of the rescue team for accomplishing one of the world's toughest operations said, "A documentary on this rescue operation will help people to take future lessons."
He honoured all the teams who were part of the mission which included the NDRF personnel, Army, SDRF, local civil administration, police, public relations, mining department and the individuals who helped in arranging machineries, cameras, lights, and other materials.
Heaping praise on the entire team, Chief Minister said "My gratitude to all the team members who gave their best as well as the citizens of Chhattisgarh, for accomplishing the most challenging rescue operation. The team members' untiring efforts, determination, never giving up in a tough situation, and handling the rescue mission deftly helped them to achieve the goal. A documentary on this rescue operation will help people to take future lessons."
Notably, it was one of the longest bore well rescue operations in the country as it took nearly 105 hours to successfully rescue Rahul as the team had to face many challenges during the task.
As Rahul was not responding, it was difficult to know the situation down there. And the rocky terrain made it difficult for the team to reach him. However, braving all the difficulties and obstacles, the team finally managed to rescue Rahul after nearly five days.
For the unversed, Rahul accidentally fell in a borewell at Pihrid village of Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district and was stuck 80 feet beneath last Friday. Following which a massive rescue operation was launched to rescue him with the help of NDRF, and Army Personnel.
