Tension at Dhinkia Panchayat near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district refuse to die down as women and children of the village continue to stand in solidarity with the menfolk opposing the proposed JSW project on Tuesday.
As reported earlier, the villagers have put up temporary barricades at the three entry points to the village and have put locks on those to prevent any possible forced entry by district administration officials and the police force. The villagers are also guarding the locked gates round the clock.
While the villagers are continuing their stir to thwart entry from outside, just about 50-100 metres away on the other side of the barricades, a strong police contingent has been deployed.
The villagers are anticipating forced entry from all three sides of the village. To prevent such a situation, they have stepped up vigil around the stop-gates 24x7. They have made security layers with children standing in the first layer followed by women in the second while men constitute the last layer.
Meanwhile, the district administration is continuing with the demolition of betel vines in Mahala region.
