The residents of Jhulenbar village in Odisha's Bolangir district gave a rousing welcome to Asish Nag and Jyoti Rajan Thanpati, who are the village's first recruits to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the elite Central paramilitary force.
Asish and Jyoti, who have joined the CRPF as Jawans, received a red carpet walk-on following their arrival at their hometown after completing training in Chennai. They were garlanded by the villagers and relatives amid shouts and cheers of joy by fellow villagers. An impressive function was organized by the Dhabaleswar Yuva Sangh to celebrate their successful return.
They were welcomed by their mothers, sisters by applying ‘tilak’ on their forehead. Thereafter, they took the blessings of elders in their family and the village.
From young to old everybody was elated on their return. The village was wearing a festive look and was immersed in patriotic fervour. "Bharat mata Ki Jai" and "Jai Jawan" slogans reverberated in the atmosphere.
Notably, Asish and Jyoti with their dedication and hard work were able to crack the CRPF exam and were selected in the armed forces. Following selection, they underwent training at Chennai's RTC Avadi in the last six months.
"I am very proud to serve the country. We are truly blessed to receive the love of the village," said Ashish.
"We are very proud of them. Hope they serve the county and motherland till their last breath," Jyoti's mother said.
"I'm very proud to be a part of the armed forces and happy to serve it," said Jyoti.
Even though Jhulenbar has many police personnel from the village, however, Asish and Jyoti are the first youths to serve in the armed forces making the village proud of their achievement.
Asish and Jyoti's success is now inspiring other youths from Jhulenbar to join the armed forces and serve the country.
