Odisha Plans Long Saline Embankment On Coasts To Prevent Storm Surge 

Water Resources department chief engineer Jyotirmaya Rath today said that the government has prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Rs 6000-7000 crore for a long-term plan to check high tides during storm.

Bhubaneswar: Recently battered by cyclone ‘Yaas’, the Odisha Government has stepped up its measures to strengthen the saline embankments to prevent high tidal waves from inundating the coastal areas during powerful storms.
