The Odisha government has announced a hike in the Duty Call Allowance (DCA) of the home guards to 38 per cent.
As per an official release, the decision to hike the duty call allowance was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by chief secretary following the directions of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Patnaik approved the hike of Rs 416 per day towards duty call allowance. Earlier, the home guards were getting a monthly allowance of Rs 9,000 which has now been revised to Rs 12,480.
On July 12, the Odisha government had announced a hike in the House Building Advance (HBA) for the State government employees. The decision was taken as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.
Besides, on May 1, the State government had enhanced the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) payable to the semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled categories of employees in the State. The minimum wages for the unskilled is now Rs 326, Rs 366 for semi-skilled, Rs 416 for skilled and Rs 476 for highly skilled workers.
