The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Wednesday cleared around seven investment projects worth Rs 511.19 crore.

The project aims at providing employment to around 6, 402 persons. Earlier, the SLSWCA had accorded permission to eight other proposals worth Rs 1872.11 crore which envisaged employment opportunities for over 3,000 people.

As per an official release, the Committee headed by Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra has approved total investment projects worth Rs 2,383.30 crore in the past 23 days in the State.

Senior government officials said that the projects, which have been accorded approvals, are employment-intensive in the sectors like textile, apparel, paper products, renewable energy, tourism, steel downstream and iron ore beneficiation. And, to ensure the same, the Chief Secretary has directed to ensure that the industries employ persons ‘skilled in Odisha’.

The approved projects include-

-The proposal of Ambattur Fashions for setting up a Men’s and Women’s apparel manufacturing unit at Chandaka in Khordha district with an investment of Rs. 51 crore and employment opportunities for over 4,700 persons.

-Wild Lotus Fashions to set up a garment manufacturing unit at the Chhatabar Industrial Estate in Khordha district against an investment of Rs. 52.62 crore, which would generate employment opportunity for over 560 persons.

- Shree Banshi Luxmi Private Limited (a subsidiary of Pioneer Packaging Private Limited) to set up a new Kraft Paper unit with a capacity of 300 Ton per day in Balasore district envisaging an investment of Rs 120 crore

. - Indian Oil Corporation Limited to set up a 10 MW Solar Power Plant in Boudh district with an investment of Rs 52.28 crore.

- Prachi Resorts to set up a 4-star Hotel in Khordha district with an investment of Rs. 63.30 crore.

- Sygma Tubes And Pipes to set up a 5,00,000 MT Tube and Pipe manufacturing unit in Sambalpur district with an investment of Rs 51.99 crore
