Odisha Cabinet approves 33 proposals; know major decisions

Chief Secretary, Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said that major decisions included approval of the financial bids for construction of 40 lift irrigation schemes with intake points on different rivers in the districts of Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Gajapati, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Angul and Cuttack.

The Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved as many as 33 proposals including construction of two integrated barrages- the first one across Kochila river near Kuturia village in Bhadrak district while the second one on Baitarani river near village Dhobabil of Jajpur district.

The Cabinet also approved the tender for the above work for an execution amount of Rs 200 crore (without GST) and 0 & M cost for five years amounting to Rs 1 crore (without GST). The work is planned to be completed in 30 months.
