Amid the prevailing border tension between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh over Kotia region, a fresh dispute on fighting for reservation in education has added oil into the fire.

Notably, this is not the first time when Andhra Government has tried to lure the villagers with their schemes to adopt their citizenship. Earlier the Andhra govt had sent its officials to set up a mobile health unit in the disputed region and had provided free services to the people at doorstep.
Taking a note of the issue, Koraput SP, Additional Collector and Pottangi BDO are also said to have held a closed room meeting.
Meanwhile, Adivasi Community Secretary Padmanav Jani has said that there is a need to engage Kui language teachers in Kotia if Odisha government wants to maintain its hold in the region because it is a huge demand.
"Some officials of Odisha visited three times to the interior villages like Phagunaseneri, Phatuseneri and Doliambo held discussions with locals. The villagers during the meeting demanded that they want the local youths to be engaged as teachers. They also said that they are willing to teach their children Odia along with their Kondh language," said Jani.
