Acting on a notice served by the Koraput district administration for allegedly forcing the Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari to dance inside the ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital, attendant Rajib Hial appeared before the sub-collector on Tuesday.
Rajiv had made his stand clear while being deposed the sub-collector. On the other hand, the social worker Mamata Behera who has been accused of making the Padma Shri awardee dance also kept her stand in writing without appearing before the sub-collector, sources revealed.
Notably, Pujari was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment 20 days back. In the meantime, a social worker entered into her cabin without permission and ate with her. She even made her dance Koraputia Dhemsa.
That’s not all. She made Pujari’s dance video viral in social media. However, this did not go down well with Paraja and Bhoomia Samaj members who threatened to launch a massive protest after the video of the social worker forcibly dancing with Kamala went viral.
They condemned the incident and requested the state government to take legal action against the accused for damaging the image of Pujari who is the pride of Adivasi people.
Rajiv said, “When asked about the video, I replied saying I am completely ignorant about it. Even I was not present during the video shoot. I also gave it in writing. As the social worker has dragged me into the controversy unnecessarily, I am hurt and has urged the sub-collector to take action against the real accused.”
