Several houses have been damaged in a major landslide incident at Jangiditul village under Badakalakote panchayat of Gajapati district. It is said that incessant rainfall triggered the mudslide in the area.
Though there is no report of any casualty, several houses have been damaged in the incident. It is pertinent to mention here that incessant rains have been lashing the region since Friday.
Gushing waters from the stream along with mud has compounded the miseries as rain is continuing in the area. The Odisha Fire Services Department personnel and other administrative officials have reached the spot to carry out necessary rescue operations.
Landslides in several blocks in Gajapati district are regular feature. The communication between two villages has been affected due to the landslide.
