FSSAI launches drive against sale of adulterated edible oil

If adulteration will be found, oil manufacturing companies may have to down their shutters.

Food safety regulator, FSSAI has launched an awareness drive against the sale of adulterated edible oil on Monday and the drive will last till August 14. 

FSSAI, at a press meet, informed media that it has decided to ban adulterated mineral oil, argemone oil, castor oil and trans fatty acid oil. In the first phase, 126 samples of edible oil will be sent for test to oil testing laboratory.
