There has been substantial rise in the number of net subscribers under the ambit of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization or the EPFO.
As per the provisional payroll data of EPFO which was released on December 20, 2021, 12.73 lakh net subscribers were added during the month of October 2021.
The EPFO has been issuing timely updates to keep its members keep pace with its several services. To avail services, the EPFO members need to keep their details updated to avail various services online. The members should also keep the bank account details updated in their Universal Account Number (UAN) which can be done easily online.
Steps To Update Bank Account Details In UAN
-Visit the Unified member portal, login with UAN and password
-Click on the Manage Tab.
-Select KYC option from the drop down menu.
-Select documents. Enter bank account number and IFSC code and click on Save icon.
-After saving the new bank details, it will show ‘KYC pending for approval.’
-Submit documents to employer.
-After document verification by employer, KYC pending for approval will change to ‘Digitally Approved KYC.’
-The members will receive confirmation message from EPFO after successful verification of bank details by employer.
The EPFO has also issued a warning to its members asking not to share their personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, bank account or OTP over phone or social media. The caution is part of the awareness measures to safeguard members from online fraud.
