A bank agriculture officer has gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Bolangir district. The disappearance of the officer, Dibyaranjan Mishra, has led to many speculations including kidnap and suicide.
As per sources, Mishra had been working as an agriculture officer with the Punjab National Bank’s Barpali branch.
According to a source, Mishra was returning home from Sonepur after his normal field duty when he went missing. The last time he talked to his family members was 6 pm on Wednesday, informing them that he was returning home. However, he didn’t reach home.
It was when the worried family members tried to contact him on his mobile phone but it answered switched off.
According to the family members, there was no family tension nor had he any enmity with anyone.
“My son had gone to Binika branch on official duty. He left the branch somewhere between 5.30 pm and 6 pm and has since been incommunicado. His mobile phone answers switched off. We suspect something wrong may have happened to him. We have informed all the police stations and requested the Bolangir and Sonepur district administrations to take steps to trace him out as soon as possible,” said Dibyaranjan’s father Keshab Charan Mishra, in a choked voice.
