While the marital dispute between Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Anubhav Mohanty and wife Varsha Priyadarshini continues to hog the media limelight, a social media post by the Kendrapara MP has now gone viral.
The actor-turned-politician took to social media on Thursday and poured his heart out over his ‘failed’ marriage with actress Varsha Priyadarshini.
Anubhav said choosing life partner was the only mistake he committed and it has ruined his life. He said he fell in love in 2008 and loved her the most in the world. And after six years of courtship, they finally got married.
He made the statement without mentioning any name, but the indication was clearly to his wife Varsha whom he married in 2014.
Speaking on the court cases, Anubhav said, “I had never seen a police station and a court in my life. I have to endure all this only because of love.”
Alleging that there is a smear campaign designed to malign his image, the actor questioned, “Why a man is always portrayed as the villain in a marriage while every word said by the woman is taken as the gospel of truth?”
Varsha Priyadarshini had filed a case of domestic violence against Mohanty in the SDJM court in Cuttack in September 2020.
The case was filed under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act against the MP for allegedly assaulting and harassing Varsha. In her petition, Varsha had appealed to the court seeking maintenance from Anubhav.
Varsha had alleged that Anubhav is a habitual drunkard and he often drinks with his friends at home. The MP also assaulted and harassed her mentally, she alleged.
It is noteworthy to mention that the BJD MP was excluded from the list of party’s star campaigners in Pipili bypolls. His name is also missing from the recently released list of BJD’s campaigners for the Brajarajnagar bypoll.
