As many as 24 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) will be set up in Odisha, informed Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premananda Nayak in Odisha Assembly on Saturday.
While briefing the House during the Question Hour proceedings, Nayak said that there are plans to set up 24 new ITI colleges in different parts of the State.
“At present, there are 49 government and 448 private ITI colleges in Odisha. We are focusing on providing adequate training to the students. The department is providing the requisite training to students and it is the job of the government to see their placements,” said Nayak.

While responding to a question of Salepur MLA, the State Women and Child Development Minister, Tukuni Sahu said that efforts are on to establish working women’s hostel in all districts of the State.
“A report has been sought from district Collectors and the hostels to provide affordable accommodation to working women will be set up as per the requirement. Priority will be given to the women having an income of less than Rs 35,000 in such facilities,” said Sahu. Sahu further informed that the district Collectors will set up committees for the management of these hostels for working women.
