Mirwaiz presses for early resolution of Kashmir
"The delegates should persuade the world powers including the United States to facilitate a settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and will of the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir," the Mirwaiz said in his address to the 59th National Breakfast Prayer (NBP) in Washington on Friday.
"We need to use weapons of love, compassion and sympathy to overcome the hatred, anger and animosity," he said.
The Mirwaiz said Hindus and Muslims have lived together for centuries in Kashmir.
"It is simply because the people of Kashmir believe in a pluralistic society based on fairness, justice and co-existence," he added.
The Mirwaiz and his delegation met representatives from more than 40 countries, a spokesman of the Hurriyat said.
