Maran meets PM, says it was routine meet

It was not clear as to what transpired during the meeting which came ahead of the expected reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers.

Maran sought to dismiss the meeting as a routine one.

"It is nothing... I am a minister," he underlined and contended that the meeting was related to official work.

Maran, the Textiles Minister, has recently come under scrutiny over his role in the 2G spectrum issue. He was the Telecom Minister in UPA-1 when the 2G licences were allocated.
